June 2017 - Darth Maul Lightsaber

After modelling a series of different lightsabers, I started to model my most favourite design of all time: Darth Maul's double bladed lightsaber.

Using autodesk maya and reference images online, I used standard primitives to create the iconic weapon.

Although the model has not been fully textured, I plan to UV Map the model and create normal maps to create a "used" look, i.e scratches/scuffs, but nothing too exaggerated.

A part of The Naboo Theed Palace Plasma Refinery complex was modeled to see how well the prop fit into the location in which it was used.
